After your complimentary assessment and care evaluation appointment, we diligently set out to find a Silver Crown caregiver who exemplifies the character attributes important to you, that explicitly matches the level of care you require, and who has the care background and training experience pertaining to your specific care needs or situation. Over the course of the care evaluation, we ask a series of detailed questions about your situation, the individual in need of care, and what sort of care you're looking for in order to determine the level of care needed and the best possible caregiver for each individual. Once the evaluation is complete, we refer a reliable, trustworthy, and experienced caregiver who has the caregiving skills necessary for your situation, and who is qualified to work in your home.

To assure we place only the best and highly qualified caregivers, we go above and beyond a standard background screening for our applicants and employees. Not only do we perform the standard background check on all of our applicants, but we check health status, employment references, and run a thorough investigation of criminal, civil, and driving records. The Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act mandates that all caregivers and personal care providers must be registered and licensed with the state in order to work as a caregiver within the state of California. Caregiver registration and licensing requires that each and every caregiver undergo a thorough review, which includes completing a set number of training hours, passing a LiveScan background check, and successfully completing an exam. As an additional effort to insure quality care and provide peace of mind for our clients, each and every one of our caregivers is also bonded.

Our caregiver screening includes:

  1. A minimum of 2-5 years experience as a home care provider
  2. A Thorough Initial Phone Screening by an HR Representative
  3. A valid Driver's License, Passport, or State ID card
  4. A Physical, including a Chest X-Ray and TB Test
  5. (3) Professional and Verified Reference Checks
  6. The Passing of Senior Care Competency Exams, given upon completion of training and renewed annually
  7. A Character, Personality, and Attitude Assessment
  8. A LiveScan and Criminal Background Check
  9. A DMV Background Check
  10. Current CPR Certification
  11. Caregiver Licensing and Registration with the State of California
